Welcome to Waldheim

Hey kids, just thought you guys might like to see a winter storm in Waldheim. Ireland got to take today off school, the following pictures show why.

This was the path to my garage at 7:30 this morning, i said no way, not gonna happen.

The next picture is of the front of our house at 2:00 pm this afternoon.

And this is the same thing but closer to 5:00 pm. Ya think it's snowing much?

The next few are of the good samaritan who offered to drive everyone home from Michelle's work. It might have been helpful to know that there was an eight foot drift where a normal road used to be. It's such a whiteout around here that you can't see five feet in front of you.

Well that's all for now, i've got a better story to share with you about today, but i'll wait for the visual evidence to arrive first! Oh well, at least i don't live in Y-knife... i saw it was -35 there this morning!

Thanks for mentioning us poor Yellowknifer's Todd - my poor truck this morning on the way to work... didn't warm up a bit even after half an hour. At least when it's this cold it's not snowing and usually no wind, although I always tell Tara we don't count wind chill up here it's bad enough without it - those pictures bring back good memories of the good ol' SK blizzard... we're up to a balmy -33 right now by the way.
